This is not the fairytale you remember.

But it’s one you won’t forget.

Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. The police have closed her case. The only person Scarlet can turn to is Wolf, a street fighter she does not trust, but they are drawn to each other.

Meanwhile, in New Beijing, Cinder will become the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive – when she breaks out of prison to stay one step ahead of vicious Queen Levana.

As Scarlet and Wolf expose one mystery, they encounter Cinder and a new one unravels. Together they must challenge the evil queen, who will stop at nothing to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner . . .

Scarlet is a super thrilling book! It was more fast-paced than Cinder and it kept me engrossed and reading faster than I could turn the pages. Marissa Meyer does it again in this twisted retelling of Little Red Riding Hood like you’ve never seen it before! ❤

Just like Cinder, Scarlet has a Sci-fi twist and it’s own touch of originality! While Cinder was amazing and had the start to a cute romance upcoming(?), Scarlet picked up where Cinder left off and progressed this series with a new cast of characters along with the old ones. This book is filled with action, adventure, and thrilling twist that I never expect. Scarlet answers some of the questions we have from Cinder and it just keeps adding more and more details to the world.

In this book, Cinder is a fugitive on the run with a secret that makes are a valuable target. Cinder changed a bit from book one, but she’s still unsure of herself and her capabilities of going up against Levana and winning, but she’s not letting that stop her.

Sadly in this second book Cinder and Emperor Kai have no interaction whatsoever. But we do have a new hot couple to worry about. Scarlet and Wolf are from two very different worlds, but when their lives collide they reluctantly end up together… After they realize they’re on the “same side”, they are inseparable and oh so cute!! ❤

I loved Scarlet from the second she was introduced, she was a fiery and determined girl that would do everything for her loved ones. She went out to find her missing grandmother no matter what. Everyone thinks she’s crazy but Scarlet’s not giving up that easy! She had everyone telling her that her grandmother took off, but Scarlet was not willing to accept that and was determined to go to any length to find and save her grandmother, even if she had to sacrifice herself! She is such a powerful character and yet so different from Cinder.

I was again amazed by the world-building, it has so much detail and depth! Even the characters are so well thought and unique! It’s impossible not to love these books!! I loved to meet Scarlet and I am super excited to meet Cress and Winter and see what will happen!

This is getting so good! And I highly recommend it!
