My 2017 Reading Goals

I am a bit late doing this one but only now I got the time to actually see this calmly. Also, last year I only participated in one challenge – the Goodreads one – and I really wanted to do some more different ones this year. I already saw some of them for now. They will be updated here.

Today, I’m going to share my 2017 reading goals and hopefully, it’ll inspire your own!

  • Read (at least) 65 books. I am doing once again the Goodreads Reading Challenge. I did read more last year but with school and exams and so on I don’t want to push myself all too much for now. We’ll see if I can do more than that or not!
  • Participate in more challenges. I will be doing at least this one:

2017 Mount TBR Reading Challenge – Mount Blanc: Read 24 books from your TBR

Although I would have done this anyway, with a challenge it’s always more compelling and fun. So, I thought this one was a total must for me! I really need to narrow my TBR down before I buy more books!

2017 New Adult Reading Challenge – Bingo

In 2016 I think I read around 2 to 3 new adult books?! I am not sure but anyway, it’s a lot less comparing to other genres. When I saw this challenge and with a bingo, I had to try it! First of all, I’ve never done a Bingo challenge and secondly, although I don’t read much new adult books, I actually tend to enjoy them a lot!

  • Read more diversely, both in genre and authors. I think I always have the tendency to read mainly Fantasy. But last year I actually read a bit of contemporary, sci-fi and manga and well, not much else. This year I want to read a bit more of historical fiction, classics, new adult … also last year I actually read books from a bunch of authors, especially from Netgalley. This year I already have some more authors in mind that I really wanted to try!
  • Give priority to unfinished series. This one is both a read and a buy goal. I tend to buy new books all the time and I am still missing half series and so on. I did pretty good in this last year but not enough. This year, I will solemnly try to end the series I own first instead of jumping around!

My reading goals are pretty simple but at least like that, I hope to actually achieve them!

What are your reading goals for 2017?

If you have a Goodreads Reading Challenge let me know! I’d love to check it out!

  1. I love books, I love reading fantasy, and I also have a habit of not finishing series, haha (so, three similarities)
I would love to be the part of your journey, if you may allow.
    Happy reading and Happy Blogging!
what is netgalley btw? How can I use it?

  2. Thank you!! I would love for you to be part of it! 😀 Netgalley – https://s2.netgalley.com – is a site that provides recent or unpublished ebooks to bloggers, reviewers, … for free! It was loads of books and it’s super easy to use! You can rate and post the reviews in the site and/or put the link to your blog.
