July Book Haul

IMG_6788

I wasn’t expecting to do another haul so soon, but oh well! I got some amazing books and I can’t wait to share them! So, last month was my birthday month and I did get some money, so apart from all the books I got, that you can check out here, I decided to spend it on nothing less than more books! So, YEY! 😍 I have no idea when I’m gonna read some of them, but I am excited for all of them, otherwise, I wouldn’t have picked them…

I got 15 books, which is a pretty big amount for me, plus some bookish stuff that I am really excited to show you guys! And I will also include in this post the books I received from Netgalley!

So let’s start this nonsense!

Here are all the books and bookish stuff I got:

I actually already read one of the books in this haul. Well, I listened to it, anyway, and the audiobook is actually fantastic, if you want to check it out, you can listen to a sample here. And the book was Shadow and Bone! I already read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, but since I really want to read The Language of Thorns, I decided it was time to get to them, and I loved the first book!!

I am also really excited to finally have the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and also the beautiful hardcover of Strange the Dreamer!

I got The Winner’s Kiss and One in promotion actually at my usual bookstore and they were so cheap and I really wanted them, so why not right?! Even tho I don’t own any other book from The Winne’s trilogy…. Oops!

I am also incredibly excited to finally have The Program! I have been wanting it for 3 years now and I just never got it! I am so excited for it! The synopsis really catches my eye!

I heard a lot of good things about The Love that Split the World so I decided to get it and the same with Wonder since the movie is coming out soon, it’s time to get to it! Windfall is just way too cute to pass on, and I am going to read it pretty soon!

And finally my amazing pre-orders! I actually already read Because You Love to Hate Me, because I just couldn’t wait! I love this type of books, where you get a taste from a lot of authors, and this one being about villains?! Yeah, I needed it…

I am really excited to read Warcross. It sounds so awesome and I haven’t read any books by the author… Although I will get to them soon, I promise! And They Both Die at the End, which I really like the idea of the book and the title, although I didn’t like History is All you Left Me… So let’s see how this one goes!

Received from NetGalley:

I asked for some more, but not too many, since there’s a lot of new releases in September that I want to get to and I have a lot of physical copies to read at home already, so until now, this is what I got and I am super excited to start reading them! Look at these covers, they are gorgeous!

Bookish Stuff:

I rarely buy any bookish stuff… Although I like a lot of the things I see, being from EU it’s not the easiest way to buy bookish stuff… They are either too expensive, or the shipping is too expensive, so I normally go for Funko Pops which are a bit easier to get and to pay for. But this time I decided to buy some book inspired candles and I couldn’t be happier! I got mine from BookAndNook and they are beautiful and smell amazing! Like, literally amazing! I never imagined they would be this good and they came perfectly packed!

I got 3 sample sized ones (2oz in a jar) to try out and 2 small sized ones (4.5oz in a tin)!

  1. I love Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Strange the Dreamer. Some people are put off them because they are slow, but I personally love that because it means I can savour the beautiful descriptiveness that is Laini Taylor’s writing style. I also love Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy. I am however in the small to invisible camp that prefers it over Six of Crows, although I do like that duology too.

In terms of book buying, I have only bought one physical book this month and that is Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton. However I did also receive my pre-ordered copy of Because You Love To Hate Me, and Daughter of the Burning City which came in my July FairyLoot box. I’m trying to cut down on the number of books I purchase so I feel like I’m doing quite well at the moment.

    • I need yet to read those but I am incredibly excited for them and I’ve heard great things about them!! 😍
I’ve only read the first book in the Grisha trilogy and loved it, so I’m not sure if it will be better than Six of Crows or not but what I love more than in the Six of Crows duology is that we see a lot more of the world, which is what I most love in fantasy.
I really enjoyed Traitor to the Throne and I hope you do too! It’s quite different from the first one but I love that world! 😍 I have yet to receive Daughter of the Burning City 😫 But I want to read it so bad!!
I think I never bought so many books before 😛 But I’m not yet ready to stop myself hahah

  2. So many great books!! I’m very jealous of your hard cover copy of Strange the Dreamer. I’ve only seen that cover online but it looks like it’s even prettier as a physical copy (I listened to the audiobook, which was great, but unfortunately that means there’s no copy on my shelf).
