A Three Months Book Haul

This time I thought in joining the 3 monthly hauls in one since I didn’t get many books in each to do a good haul. This is my haul for the months of August, September, and beginning of October.

I got some really great books to show you guys and many I already read! Many of them are recent, so I hope you enjoy this book haul and make sure you comment what books did you get this month, and if you are excited with some of the ones I got! 😍

I got 32 books, which is a pretty big amount, but since it covers three months it’s not that bad… Right? And like in July, I will also include in this post the books I received from NetGalley, and also some bookish stuff!

Here are all the books I got:

Random Books

I already read some of these – Living Dead Girl and Saint Death – and loved them. I don’t really know what happened to me to get such dark books… I guess Halloween? Anyway, I love me some heavy emotions. I really wanted to get Helter Skelter since I first heard of it and I finally did! It’s such a brick! I am not sure when I will get to it but eventually, I will. Sounds amazing…

I got The Outsiders because it’s just too sad I haven’t read that yet and I was also dying to read Stalking Jack the Ripper, but I waited for the paperback to come out and I finally got to it and I loved it!!

I got my first ever signed book from Patrick Ness and I love this cover! I’m super happy  I got it! These are all a bit lighter books. I absolutely loved the last book I read from Julie Buxbaum and this one has been in my TBR for way too long so I got it! I also got my first ever book from Sarah Dessen and finally a book from Melina Marchina that I heard so much about. I finally got The Female of the Species, which I’ve been wanting to get since it first came out.

I’ve been wanting to get The Bone Season since I read the first chapters of it, and I decided to get it now since it was 50% off because of the cover change. I also finally got Darkfever that I LOVE the cover for.

I also decided to try out a book that has been going around that is Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen SuggestionsThe Girls from See Saw Lane I got because I read an ARC from one of the books in the collection and loved it, and want to read the rest of them!

And the last book – Manipulated Lives – is my first ever physical copy given by an author! YEY! The author is extremely kind and this book sounded just right up my alley. I already read it and loved it! It’s such a dark realistic book with 5 short stories all about different types of manipulation and with extremely different characters!

And finally, we have my Halloween stack! I got Neverwhere by Nail Gaiman and illustrated by my favorite illustrator Chris Riddell! I wanted this so bad you guys have no idea and his illustrations always feel a bit Halloweeny, so…

I already started It (I never thought I would like it this much. It’s a really good book, messed up sure but SO well written!), which I was dying to read since the movie came out already! I also thought I should buy some cool Halloween themed books, and so I got one anthology and one that just came out, and I didn’t have the chance to read yet.

Books I read as ARCs and bought

These are all books I gave 4 to 5 stars. I loved them, some are even among my absolute favorites and I needed to buy them! Right? Yeah… I did! Also, READ THEM!

I already read some of them, which I’m really happy about! I was so excited for all of these books! You guys have no idea. So many books getting out at the same time!! *squeals*

Where do I start?! I loved Girls Made of Snow and Glass! Although it’s quite a slow story it made me cry my heart out and it really surprised me! The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding is the perfect book to read during Halloween and I had so much fun reading it! Plus, look at that cover!! It’s gorgeous! Daughter of the Burning City is a very interesting  and thrilling book full of unique characters. It sounds super interesting and mysterious! And finally Hunting Prince Dracula, that I’ve pre-ordered way too long ago because it sounds AMAZING!

A Skinful of Shadows has the most amazing cover ever and I am extremely excited to get it. It sounds dark and brutal, and perfect for this time of the year! Invictus is about time-travel, which I’m a BIG fan of. I already read it and it’s quite a nice book, it’s not as gripping as I was expecting but it has some really amazing characters and it’s thrilling. And Jane, Unlimited sounds just magnificent and I’ve been wanting to read something from the author for the longest time!

To be honest I don’t know when I’m getting to the Magnus Chase trilogy but I do intend to so why not get it in a pre-order… Lastly, I got Spinning, which I already read. It’s a graphic novel and it’s sort of an autobiography. It’s really interesting although it’s not as much about ice skating as I was expecting. The design is amazing and all in purple with yellow accents.

Received from NetGalley:

I got some more ARCs like always, because I seem to not be able to stop asking for them, but I also got some books that were actually already released which is something I normally don’t get – and I couldn’t be happier because I really wanted them and I wasn’t able to pick them up before.

I also got my first ARC for 2018! Which is a bit ridiculous and at the same time extremely cool! We are getting so near to the end of the year! I can’t even believe it…

Anyway, I will stop rambling, here are the ARCs I got by date of release:

  1. Wow, now that is quite a haul. So many interesting books. I love that you buy books that you have already read as ARCs. I never reread any books hence never bought books that I read as ARCs but it sounds like a good idea. I hope that you will enjoy all these books especially Little Fires Everywhere which I loved 🙂

    • Thank you! 😀 I quite like to re-read especially when I truly love a book! I don’t re-read thrillers as much but all the others occasionally I do 🙂 I intend to read it this month! I’m really excited for it!
