She will become a legend but first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning…
Diana is desperate to prove herself to her warrior sisters. But when the opportunity comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law to save a mere mortal, Alia Keralis. With this single heroic act, Diana may have just doomed the world.
Alia is a Warbringer – a descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery. Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies, mortal and divine, determined to destroy or possess the Warbringer.
To save the world, they must stand side by side against the tide of war.
Leigh Bardugo is one of my favorite authors, I just love her stories incredibly. Wonder Woman is also one of my favorite superheroes. So the two joined together, I had high expectations for. I’m not going to lie, I was expecting this to be a lot different than it ended up being… And that’s why I’m so surprised to love this so much!
Wonder-Woman: Warbringer is an amazing retelling! It’s all about girl power, friendship, family and learning how to be yourself.
This book is packed full of action, tension, emotion, and drama! It was oh so good! It was extremely gripping and in the beginning, I thought I knew what was going to happen but somehow the author made me forget that completely? It was quite weird because when the end came, it was what I was expecting but it still surprised me! I was expecting one thing but so much happened that I had no idea!
Another thing perfect in this book is the characters. I love them. There’s nothing more to say, I just love any characters Leigh Berdugo creates.
Diana Prince is an incredible, incredible character. I loved her with all my heart! She is easily the best character in the book. I love her way of thinking, how she is just different from everyone else, how she in some things is so naive, how strong hearted (and just plain strong….) she is, how much family and friendship means to her, everything. I just loved everything about her!
I also really liked Alia, in the beginning, I thought she was going to be a bit “unsalted” but she ended up surprising me, and I loved her friends too. They are just all so unique! I really felt connected with them and I have for sure to read all this again because I liked it that much.
And the writing was just gorgeous! I’m always speechless of how even in the middle of all the tension and action there are always moments that make me snort. I love this… Definitely the best superhero story I’ve read! Definitely recommend it. This series is just such a great idea, I’m excited for more!
“Sisters in battle, I am shield and blade to you. As I breathe, your enemies will know no sanctuary. While I live, your cause is mine.”
“It’s the people who never learn the word impossible who make history, because they’re the ones who keep trying.”
“I am done being careful. I am done being quiet. Let them see me angry. Let them hear me wail at the top of my lungs.”
