Bizarre murders are discovered in the castle of Prince Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula. Could it be a copycat killer… or has the depraved prince been brought back to life?
Following the grief and horror of her discovery of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth has no choice but to flee London and its memories. Together with the arrogant yet charming Thomas Cresswell, she journeys to the dark heart of Romania, home to one of Europe’s best schools of forensic medicine…and to another notorious killer, Vlad the Impaler, whose thirst for blood became legend.
But her life’s dream is soon tainted by blood-soaked discoveries in the halls of the school’s forbidding castle, and Audrey Rose is compelled to investigate the strangely familiar murders. What she finds brings all her terrifying fears to life once again.
Hunting Prince Dracula was amazing. I loved it SO MUCH! This is one of my favorite trilogies of all time and it’s not even over yet!
This book has the perfect combination of amazing characters, writing, and setting. It’s truly incredible and I love how the author “misleads” you and makes you doubt your own thoughts. To be honest, this mystery, for me, was even more surprising than the first book. I can’t say I didn’t see part of it coming, but all the twists made it even greater than I thought possible!
This book is mysterious, tense and gripping. The world details were once again phenomenal as well as the ties to the original legend. It truly is like seeing a movie. I loved reading about Romania, seeing the language as well as the photos throughout the book. The castle, especially, was amazing! (I wanna go there!!) It had such a creepy atmosphere! Full of mysteries and secrets.
There’s so much detail, character development, romance, and action! But one of the things that made me start loving this book was the characters. Aundrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell are among the best characters ever. I read that a lot of people thought that their relationship in this book was a bit different and I do agree in that. It was not as tense? I’m not sure how to describe it but I guess the first book was sassier. In this one, he was a bit more subdued.
He is obviously in love with Audrey Rose, which we already know, but somehow that made him more soft and quiet. I did prefer him a bit more spiced up like in the first book, but I still love him nonetheless because I love where the story is going! In the beginning, he was a bit blank but by the end of the book and their interactions, I think he was more himself. I think the changes suit the relationship and the mood of the story. Plus I love his humor!
Aundry Rose continues to be an incredibly badass character. I loved how much she participated in this book and how she is even bolder. She is a hell of a female character and I love how strong she is. Yet she is also sensitive and has a golden heart. She is intelligent and she is not afraid of showing it. She doesn’t need to put people down or hurt them, to be seen. She just shows how good she can be. She is always with her head up and ready to show anyone that thinks less of her, because she is a woman, that she is as good or better than them.
I loved this book and I highly recommend it! I also loved the end of it. It was not only surprising, intense and incredible but it leads to the next novel, and if it is what I think it is… I’ll die! I’ve been trying to find books about it and there’s not many. I’m so excited to know if I’m right! What do you guys think the next book will be?
