Hey guys! I was tagged by Nadwa @painfullyfictional to do the Unpopular Opinions Book Tag! Thank you so much Nadwa!! 😊 I’m super excited to do this tag because I have no idea how unpopular or popular my opinions are x) So let’s give this a try!!
Make sure you check out her amazing blog here and her answers to this tag here!
And let’s get started!
A Popular Book or series that you didn’t like
I feel that I answer this question with the same books all the time, but they are the first ones that came to my mind when I think about books that everyone loves and I don’t so… For this one I will, unfortunately, go with Outlander. I will still give it another shot. I don’t know when, but I will!
A Popular Book or series that everyone else seems to hate but you love
I feel that Before I Fall is a book a lot of people don’t like or just feel meh about. But I absolutely loved it… It really surprised me how much I loved it, and I gave it 5 stars!
A Love Triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with (warn ppl for spoilers) OR an OTP that you don’t like
For this answer, I will go with Katniss and Peeta. I’m definitely team Gale… They were so cute together, he is such a cool character, he did everything he could for her family and yet he rarely appears.
Also, look at this amazing anime drawing! I don’t know who’s the artist, but if you guys know, make sure to tell me and I will give credit to whoever did this amazing drawing!
A popular book Genre that you hardly reach for
This has to be sci-fi. I’m not big into sci-fi… Even historical fiction I tend to reach more than sci-fi, which I had no idea I did… Sci-fi is quite a popular genre, and I do have some I love but it’s not my favorite.
A popular or beloved character that you do not like
I will go with Jacob from Twilight… Initially I liked him, but with each book, I liked him less…
A popular author that you can’t seem to get into
And this is the other book I was going to put in the first answer, but I saved for here. Adam Silvera seems to be either a total hit or a total miss for a lot of people… I guess I’m on the miss side.
A popular book trope that you’re tired of seeing. (examples “lost princess”, corrupt ruler, love triangles, etc.)
I’m not much of a fan of love triangles anymore, also damsels in distress, or the typical girls that are beautiful and everyone sees that except them. Argh….
There are many answers I could get to this question! But I’m for sure not over corrupt rulers!
A popular series that you have no interest in reading
This is difficult for me because I always say I won’t…. But then, I always tend to give them a shot – unless I really didn’t like the first book, but I at least try the first one… But I guess I’m not really interested in reading The Wolves of Mercy Falls, Bloodlines, etc. anymore.
The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?
To be honest, I’m missing to see a lot of them. I have already even programmed movie nights for Christmas break, of book adaptation movies.
But one I did see and loved was The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The book was amazing, but I had a problem with the narration, which you can read about if you click on the cover of the book. And in the movie I didn’t have that problem… I loved both of them, they both had stuff I preferred, but I would say it’s an amazing adaptation and the movie is for sure worth seeing.

I used to be Team Jacob back when I was in middle school and obsessed over Twilight, but I honestly can’t remember why- and I wouldn’t risk a Twilight re-read now to find out, I’d probably think it was too cheesy. I just probably thought he was cute.
I really like the adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, too! ❤
Great post, and thanks for tagging me – I’m curious about what my answer will be

Thanks for tagging me! I’ve never really liked Jacob from the start (Team Edward here). And is it weird that I actually don’t ship Katniss with anyone? 😂

Love this tag! I also really enjoyed Before I Fall! I thought it was a fantastic book. I was so surprised to learn that not everyone loved it though 🤣😂 And I’m right there with you on Jacob. I really liked him in the first book, then the second book well enough, but by the third book I was feeling put off by his possessiveness and then in the 4th book he falls in love with a baby. That was the last straw. I said no more. I was on no one’s team. No Team Jacob. And no Team Edward. Just Team Things Are Getting Kind of Weird LOL. I tried out Wolves of Mercy Falls and honestly, I think it’s okay to skip those ones. Not as impressive as I hoped they would be. I LOVE Maggie Stiefvater but that series just wasn’t for me 😦 And I love Perks of Being a Wallflower! Haven’t read the book just yet, but the movie is fantastic!

I loved the adaptation for Perks as well! I completely agree that both the book and movie were excellent 🙂
