November Wrap-up and December TBR

wrapupandtbr

I can’t believe we are already at the end of November… I didn’t even see this month pass!

So last month I read a total of 23 books and this month what did I do? Well… apparently nothing… I had super much school work to do, plus I got myself into a reading slump… Those two together accomplished a total of 7 books read this month, 4 of them being manga, which is the least I’ve read this year.

How was your month? Hopefully better than mine? What books did you read?

  • ARC*: Manga Classics – Jane Eyre adapted by Crystal Chan
  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  • ARC*: Juniper Lemon’s Happiness Index by Julie Israel
  • The Gods Lie by Kaori Ozaki (Review coming on 8/12)
  • The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak (Review coming on 15/12)
  • Death Note #1 and #2 (Review to come)

I guess there’s no point on doing a Top 3 this month since two were re-reads and I only read 7 books, but I did really enjoy the books I read so I will talk a bit about them.

I was especially surprised at how much I loved Juniper Lemon’s Happiness Index. It was such an emotional and beautiful book! I absolutely loved it and had to ask it for Christmas! It’s definitely a favorite, and just what I needed to take me out of that slump! Plus the cover is stunning…

I enjoyed The Fault in Our Stars this second time around. It was my first time reading it in English and I loved it! And the first volume of Death Note was also a re-read. I love the concept, but I can’t remember if I read them all or if it was just the anime, so I’m reading them.

I loved the manga version of Jane Eyre. It was beautiful! It’s one of my favorite stories and it made me want to read the original classic again, which I am currently doing. And I obviously loved The Book Thief. It’s an amazing story, which I already knew from seeing the movie but I never read the book before. I’m happy I FINALLY did!

And finally, The Gods Lie. It’s pretty interesting and emotional but I wished it was bigger than it was. It felt in a certain way complete, but short, if you know what I mean… I wanted more.

What were your favorite reads of November? Have you read any of the books mentioned? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

December is always a month I don’t read as much but I do really want to get to these books. Three of them are ARC versions that were already released this year and so I don’t wanna let it pass for next year.

I already started 2 of the books so I’m pretty sure I will be able to get to all of them at least!

The books I want to try to read in December are:

What’s on your TBR for this month? Are you excited for any of these or have you read any of them before? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
