Unboxing: FairyLoot January 2018

Hey guys! The theme for January’s FairyLoot Box was Talk Faerie To Me. FairyLoot is an amazing YA bookish subscription box. I was extremely excited for this book for two reasons. First, because it was said that the box contained ACOTAR merch and second, because they said that a pillowcase was included and it’s my first bookish pillowcase ever!

If you wanna check out what this box included, just keep reading! I will show photos of the items, and information and my thoughts on them.

Talk Faerie To Me – January 2018

So this is all the box included. Now for each item…

This month’s book is The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. This is the first book in a trilogy called The Folk of the Air #1 and it’s been quite popular all around.

Here’s the synopsis:

Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.

And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

As for the other items…

With the book, we got a letter from the author and a signed plate, as well as a super cute candle designed by Meraki Candles of Prince Cardan, who is a character in The Cruel Prince! This candle was exclusively designed for this box and the scents were provided by the author! It contains clove, oak-wood, moss, leather, black pepper, and pine. It smells divine! So fresh!

Here’s another shot at the candle design, which is beautiful, and our next item! This box included an exclusive vegan lip balm by Geeky Clean! You could get one of two variations: Seelie or Unseelie Court. “According to folklore, the Seelie Court is seen as the “light” side, whereas the Unseelie Court is seen as the “dark” side, although both like to play tricks on mortals”. I got the Seelie Court, where the package is green and it smells of fresh green apples! It tastes amazing and it’s super smooth on the lips! *The Unseelie Court lip balm has a black design and it’s honey flavored*

Another item I am really excited about are the two exclusive “Illyrian” magnetic bookmarks of Feyre and Rhysand! THEY LOOK SO GOOD!! They are from A Court of Thrones and Roses by Sarah J. Maas and were designed by Dreamy and Co.

This box also contained a lot of art in it, which I LOVE! We got an exclusive Prince Cardan character artwork illustrated by Merwild, which is stunning. And two other art prints of Rowan and Aelin from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas designed by Diana Worak. They look stunning and I love their color scheme!

The two previous art prints that I mentioned of Aelin and Rowan are reversible and you get these two stunning text illustrations designed by Stella’s Bookish Art! One is a quote from Cassandra Clare and the other from Julie Kagawa. They both look amazing and the quotes chosen really go well with the theme.

Another item included is a coloring book called Faerieland and it was designed by Michael O’Mara. This edition was exclusively made for FairyLoot and it looks amazing. There are tons of creatures and they have a brief explanation of who they are, which I found extremely interesting and different!

And lastly but not least we have the item I most anticipated:

The pillowcase! This is the exclusive “What Breaks You” Pillowcase designed by Evie Bookish, who does stunning designs! This one features a quote from A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. This quote reminded FairyLoot of Jude, the main character in the book of the month! The pillowcase is size 18″x18″ and it’s absolutely gorgeous!!

This box is amazing, full of Sarah J. Maas, fairies, and amazing items! I loved every single thing in this box and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

The next month’s theme will be…

Twisted Tales

I’m super excited about this one! I’m pretty sure what the book will be and if I’m right, it’s one of my most anticipated books of 2018! I love dark fairy tales and apparently, we are gonna get a mug AND the book is signed by the author! I’m so excited for this box!!

For more information on that box, you can check it out here. They are already sold out, but they always have some left at the beginning of the month. If you missed them, make sure you always hurry and check it out after day 1 of each month in their Instagram.

You can also already check out March’s theme here! And for that one, you can subscribe or buy a single box starting day 9! Sign up for the waiting list here!

Hope you guys enjoyed this unboxing, they are always super fun to make because I love editing and taking photos, and I love showing what’s inside these amazing boxes!

  1. The Cruel Prince is on my TBR. There has been so much hype surrounding it that I was super curious, so I picked it up last time I was at Barnes & Noble. Does the coloring book have awesome pictures? It looks really cool 🙂

I get the Lit-Cube subscription boxes and we got a coloring book this month and I love it!
