Hey bookish friends! How was your March??
Mine for sure was not what I expected. I was sick half of the month, I also somehow managed to end in a reading slump so… Not as good as I expected.
I read quite many books (13) but the majority was either manga or graphic novels, so technically I didn’t read that much. But hopefully, I will read more next month!
What did you read this month? Any favorites?
- The Trials of Morrigan Crow
- Prince of the Elves
- Firelight (Amulet #7)
- Escape from Lucien (Amulet #6)
- The Divinity Bureau
- I Hate Fairyland, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (Review to come 12/4)
- Perfect World Vol. 1 (Review to come 5/4)
- Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Review of the series to come)
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Review of Hogwarts Library to come)
- Ready Player One (Review to come)
- ARC: Sky in the Deep (Review to come 7/4)
TOP 3 books of the month:
The Trials of Morrigan Crow which was a big surprise for me. I was in a reading slump and tried to read other books before this one. When I started this, I couldn’t stop reading it. It was so much fun! It’s full of magic, adventure, and the world is amazing!!
Starfish had the most realistic way of portraying social anxiety. It was emotional, heartbreaking and overall an important book. Our MC is half Asian who has low self-esteem due to that and to being psychologically abused by her narcissistic mother. Meanwhile, she is trying to follow her dreams of being a painter. TW: psychological and physical abuse.
Sky in the Deep was an extremely gripping, slightly gruesome, bloody (literally) intense Viking inspired fantasy book! There are some pretty cool characters and a world that is amazingly detailed and complex. It was intriguing, different and often made me want to kill someone.
What were your favorite reads of March? Have you read any of the books I mentioned? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
So, to be honest, for this month I don’t really have much of a plan, which is weird because I normally do. But hopefully, I will get to some of these ones…
The books I want to try to read in April are:
