FairyLoot April 2018 Unboxing

Hey guys! This month I’m a bit late to the party but the theme for April’s FairyLoot Box was Whimsical Journeys and it’s so far my favorite box ever!! FairyLoot is an amazing YA bookish subscription box that I would highly recommend getting.

One of the things I was most excited for this box was the Tote bag, they said we were going to receive one plus two items never seen in their boxes before. Plus the Theme Card is absolutely gorgeous!!

If you wanna check out what this box included, just keep reading! I will show photos of the items, information on them and some of my thoughts!

Whimsical Journeys – April 2018

So this is all the box included. Now for each item…

This month’s book is Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake. This month’s cover is the same as the original one but with one bonus thing. It has foil in the title! While the original one doesn’t have any foil.

Here’s the synopsis:

The ancient land of Éirinn is mired in war. Ciara, Princess of Mide, has never known a time when Éirinn’s kingdoms were not battling for power, or Northmen were not plundering their shores.

The people of Mide have thankfully always been safe because of Ciara’s unearthly ability to control her enemies’ minds and actions. But lately, a mysterious crow has been appearing to Ciara, whispering warnings of an even darker threat. Although her clansmen dismiss her visions as pagan nonsense, Ciara fears this coming evil will destroy not just Éirinn, but the entire world.

Then the crow leads Ciara to Leif, a young Northman leader. Leif should be Ciara’s enemy, but when Ciara discovers that he, too, shares her prophetic visions, she knows he’s something more. Leif is mounting an impressive army, and with Ciara’s strength in battle the two might have a chance to save their world.

With evil rising around them, they’ll do what it takes to defend the land they love…even if it means making the greatest sacrifice of all.

As for the other items…

12052018-IMG_7876With the book, we got a super cute letter from the author and a signed bookplate. But behind the letter, there’s this amazing artwork of Leif and Ciara from Beyond a Darkened Shore! Plus we also got a sticker similar to the cover aaaaand….

An amazing and Exclusive Leif’s Ship Candle by Flick theWick!! It smells so freaking good! They worked with the author on what Leif would smell like, to make his ship smell like him! It smells of spruce, fir, and sandalwood (which is one of my fav smells), it’s such a manly smell and yet amazing!! I really liked this one, plus the artwork on the label, was done by Taratjah and the Viking ship has Leif’s red skeletal dragon on the sail (like in the book).

12052018-IMG_7873We got two super pretty “pins” in this box! The first one is an exclusive Blackjack Enamel Pin design by Taratjah. It’s incredibly pretty, and it’s my first ever Percy Jackson’s merch! I absolutely love Blackjack and the pin looks amazing! Enamel pins are my favs and this one is just perfect for me since I love anything, Rick Riordan!

The other was a button that we got has a bonus item, and it’s based on the book Ace of Shades that was recently released by Amanda Foody! The design looks just like the cover and I really liked it! I have yet to read the book but I’m excited to own something of it already! We also got a bonus item a bookmark promoting The Fates Divide by Veronica Roth!

12052018-IMG_7874Next we got a super cute and Exclusive Magical Beasts Luggage Tag designed by Lovely Owls Books! It’s inspired by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling and it’s the first time Fairyloot ever included one! It’s beautiful and it goes incredibly well with the theme!

We also got an Exclusive Carpe Diem Notepad designed by Little Inkling Designs! This notepad contains a quote from The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. Carpe Diem means “seize the day” in Latin which I thought also went really well with the theme!

12052018-IMG_7881And finally… These three items are my absolute favorite!! They are all SO incredibly AMAZING!! And they are what made this box my favorite so far.

We got an Exclusive Reusable Narnia Coffee Mug and it’s ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! It has so much detail! It was designed by Ink and Wonder and it features the map of Narnia by C.C. Lewis, filled with flowers!

We also got one of my favorite prints ever, because it’s full of meaning! It’s an Exclusive Fictional Places Art Print designed by Fictiontea Designs and it features a signpost with some amazing fictional places!!

The other item is the obvious Exclusive Aventure Tote Bag! It was designed by Stella’s Bookish Art and it’s incredibly GORGEOUS!! It features an amazing quote from The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien! And look at it, it’s so incredibly pretty!!

Here’s some more photos of my favorite items:

12052018-IMG_7894.jpgThis box was once again amazing! It’s my favorite so far due to the tote bag that is stunning, the coffee cup which is incredibly beautiful and full of detail, and the meaningful art print with some of my favorite fictional places! Plus, the candle is one of my favorites so far too! I can’t wait to see what the next box will bring!

The next month’s theme will be…

Save the Kingdom

This month they said we would get a new Book Sleeve! I’m so excited!! Plus there are items from An Ember in the Ashes, The Winners Trilogy, The remnant Chronicles and Throne of Glass! I’m especially excited for the An Ember in the Ashes item! Also, the book featured in this month’s box will have sprayed pages!! Yey!

For more information on that box, you can check it out here. When they are sold out, you can still get some at the beginning of each month tho (normally day 3). If you missed them, don’t worry! Each box is amazing and I’m sure you will be as happy with the next one as you would with this one! Also, make sure you check out their Instagram, they always post there the new themes!

You can already check out June’s theme here! And for that one, you can subscribe or buy a single box starting around day 9 of each month! Sign up for the waiting list here!

Hope you guys enjoyed this unboxing! They are always super fun to make because I love editing and taking photos, which I hope you enjoy; and I love showing what’s inside these amazing boxes!
