I WAS A GOD, ONCE. UNTIL I WAS CAST OUT BY MY FATHER, ZEUS.
NOW I’M AN AWKWARD MORTAL TEENAGER CALLED LESTER. BOUND TO A DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS DEMIGOD CALLED MEG. THANKS A LOT, DAD.
My way out? A series of scary and dangerous trials, of course.
For my third mission, I must:
Journey through the Labyrinth to free an Oracle who only speaks in puzzles.
Defeat a vicious and bloodthirsty Roman Emperor – the most vicious of three very vicious and bloodthirsty Roman Emperors.
Is that all? No, I’ve to do everything without any of my godly powers. Wonderful. Looks like I’ll be needing all the help I can get. From new friends, and old . . .
This edition includes a Percy Jackson short story!
Clarisse, daughter of Ares, the Greek god of war, needs Percy Jackson’s help. Her father’s chariot has been stolen and she has to get it back by sunset.
The only hitch? The chariot-jackers are none other than her terrifying immortal brothers Phobos and Deimos. Can Percy and Clarisse get the chariot back before it’s too late?
Find out in: PERCY JACKSON AND THE STOLEN CHARIOT
This was so far the absolute best Trials of Apollo installment! And probably one of the best he ever wrote! It was THAT incredible! How am I to wait 1 year for the sequel?!
And… Oh my god… I was not expecting this book. And was not prepared for it either… This was such an intense, fun, bitter-sweet journey! My heart is broken! This was so far one of the most intense books Riordan ever wrote! So many emotions!
And it has it all! The plot is phenomenal, interesting, intense, fun… basically, everything a quest should have, this book has it. Somehow this book was much smoother than the last ones, as in plot-wise…
The characters are obviously incredible, and I’m in love with all of them, but especially Meg – whom we get to know a LOT more about! And obviously, Apollo, because how couldn’t I?! But also the fact that in each book, we have some of the characters from the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus one! These books are just the best of everything!
And obviously not to forget, the writing! The humor, as always was freaking amazing! It never fails to make me laugh!
A thing that I’ve been loving more and more with each book is the character development. Especially Apollo’s. He is still the disaster he was in the first book but he is so much more… human. He cares for his friends, more than his own life – okay, let’s not exaggerate… But he does care for them! With each almost death he faces he is turning more empathic and is able to understand their fellow comrades and how the gods should be different towards them. It’s a delight to see because even tho he is changing, he is still Apollo and he is still Lester. He is just turning into the best of both I guess.
Another thing I was super excited about was to see Grover again! He is the best satyr EVER! But we also got to see Coach, whom I also love! And I’m just so in love with both of them and the Dryads and just… Ah! I loved all the characters so much! We also have Piper, Jason and others. They weren’t ever some of my fav characters but I really enjoyed them here! And the emperor and all the mythological creatures in this book… It was SO intense and fun!!
Believe me, this book is epic and I highly recommend it! Really, READ IT!
