This book, like the last one, was quite long. It wasn’t as full of action as I thought it would be, it slowly builds it up but I did expect more… I mean, it did have action in many parts and many gruesome moments, but they were quite scattered? Instead, we got a lot more character development, which to be honest I loved. That’s what initially made me love these series and it did not disappoint! So, I guess I have no complaints because one kinda made up for the other, although I would still appreciate more action-y moments…

In my last review, I mentioned that I couldn’t choose between Jem and Will anymore. And the same went for this one. They were both such amazing characters! This is the first time an author tries to appease both parts and succeeds without making it feel eye-rolling-worthy.

I absolutely loved all the characters in this book and I really fell for them. Magnus is and always will be my fav and I just can’t get enough of him, although this book had less of him, which was sad because the last one was goals in that! But we had a LOT more Will, which I loved – to get to know him better. We had Jem, Tessa, Henry, Charlotte and the Lightwood brothers! There are amazing characters in these books and they are, for the most part, incredibly well developed! Charlotte is especially an amazing character and I love her with Henry! They are so incredibly sweet!

There were so many times that hit me hard in this book! So many twists and turns! And I wasn’t expecting nearly half of them! It was intense and gripping and I really needed to know what would happen! I really liked the plot and how everything came together. It wrapped up everything quite well and I’m like 100% satisfied! It was just beautiful, emotional, bittersweet and extremely exciting!

There was a particular part in the story regarding Tessa and Will that I was NOT a fan of. It was rather unnecessary and just sad… I like them together, I sure do, but that part was most definitely avoidable… It’s the only down-point for me and it just really made me uncomfortable.

All in all, I really loved this story and it was a brilliant conclusion! It was full of emotions and it did make me cry and I just absolutely love this fantastic and unique world and the shadowhunters, but even more, these characters – and I’m gonna miss them! I would definitely recommend this series (much more than TMI in my opinion, although I’ve been noticing that TMI has been getting better in the last two books, especially because of the tiny beautiful connections between books.)
