Four months have passed since the shadow stone fell into Kell’s possession. Four months since his path crossed with Delilah Bard. Four months since Rhy was wounded and the Dane twins fell, and the stone was cast with Holland’s dying body through the rift, and into Black London.

In many ways, things have almost returned to normal, though Rhy is more sober, and Kell is now plagued by his guilt. Restless, and having given up smuggling, Kell is visited by dreams of ominous magical events, waking only to think of Lila, who disappeared from the docks like she always meant to do. As Red London finalizes preparations for the Element Games-an extravagant international competition of magic, meant to entertain and keep healthy the ties between neighboring countries-a certain pirate ship draws closer, carrying old friends back into port.

But while Red London is caught up in the pageantry and thrills of the Games, another London is coming back to life, and those who were thought to be forever gone have returned. After all, a shadow that was gone in the night reappears in the morning, and so it seems Black London has risen again-and so to keep magic’s balance, another London must fall…in V.E. Schwab’s “A Gathering of Shadows.”

This has one of the most fascinating worlds I’ve ever read about. It’s so complex and unpredictable! I love reading about the differences between Londons, it fascinates me to no end… They are very distinct and each of them has characters I love to read about. Plus, I love how magic has a different meaning in each of them and how people react to it. It’s unique and mesmerizing and I just feel more and more drawn to it. Plus the concept of magic in these books as a living thing, as I mentioned in my previous review, is incredible and it keeps getting better and better!

The characters are another strong point in these books. Lila is one of the most unpredictable and incredible characters ever! She is strong and stubborn and reckless, and I love her with all my heart since the beginning! She is the most badass character ever, like literal goals! Also, I can’t believe how much she evolved from the first book! I loved it!

Kell is getting me more and more surprised too. He is a super interesting character and I can’t but love him. He is such a precious thing! I love how much family means to him and how much he would give for them! I loved seeing him in action one more time and I loved seeing his connection with Rhy evolve. Rhy grew a lot more on me since the first book. I see him with totally new eyes and he definitely grew up a lot! But one of my new fav characters as to be Alucard! He is so freaking cool, mysterious and adorable and I want to know everything about him!!

Also… I freaking loved Essen Tasch – meaning The Element Games!! I’m not going to talk much about it here but it has magic and the occasional blood and bruise and more magic, and it’s glorious!

This series is extremely gripping, exciting, full of action and awesome characters and the writing is perfect, the pacing and the descriptions of the world, all the uniqueness in it. It has everything I could desire, and I just absolutely love this world and all that’s happening in it! Also, that end… I need the next books ASAP. I couldn’t recommend it more.Captura de ecrã 2017-06-30, às 18.18.22
