Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I can’t even describe how much I loved reading the illustrated edition! It’s such a different and beautiful experience! I’m in love! >.<
This story has always been my favorite of all of them (of the movies at least, I have yet to read the books after these ones, I’ve only read them previously till the third one). But in terms of story, it’s definitely a favorite, and I think I love it even more now, after reading this version! It’s so worth it, to read the illustrated version!
I’m not going to dwell on what the book is about because I’m betting pretty much everyone knows it already. Instead, I will mention just some of my favorite elements, without spoiling it just in case there’s someone out there, that as yet to read the whole series, like me…
Starting with my favorite thing ever: Buckbeak! I have a big passion for animals and magic, and so magical creatures are naturally the next best thing! And this one is just the most adorable, interesting and charming one! He is just so freaking cute! I love how majestic, loyal and friendly he is and I need one!!
The second best thing has to be, well, everything really. There’s nothing I don’t love about this book but for sure this book had a lot of amazing characters! I loved professor Lupin and Sirius with all my heart. They are amazing characters and I loved reading about them! I loved reading the story of them with a lot more detail than in the movie, which I failed to remember and I loved the mysterious and dark element in this book especially.
Another character I love with all my heart is Hagrid. He is the sweetest character ever and my heart was broken for him in this book! He has such a golden heart and it was hard to see him down…
This book was even more emotional than the previous ones and everything just keeps getting better and more complex with each book. It’s gripping, fantastic and an incredibly emotional and action-packed ride! There’s a lot of moments in this book that are unforgettable and I will always treasure them forever.
Also, like I said previously, comparing to the first books this one has a definite increase in darkness (the dementors really give me the creeps!), that starts to grow more and more, but we don’t lose the friendship and all the sweet and warm-hearting moments from the beginning. The dark elements and the heart-warming ones are really well balanced and it’s impossible not to be mesmerized by everything happening!
This is one of the best worlds anyone ever created and I just can’t get enough of it… I’m extremely happy to finally be reading the whole series!
