Leading your first heist is a major milestone in Sky Hawkin’s family—even more so than learning to talk, walk, or do long division. It’s a chance to gain power and acceptance within society. But stealing your first treasure can be complicated—especially when you’re a wyvern, a human capable of transforming into a dragon.
Embarking on a life of crime is never easy, and Sky’s mission uncovers deep secrets about the mother who recently went missing, the real reason her boyfriend broke up with her, and a valuable jewel that could restore her family’s wealth and rank in their community.
With a handpicked crew by her side, Sky knows she has everything she needs to complete her first heist—and get back the people she loves in the process. But instead, she ends up discovering a dark truth about were-dragon society—a truth that is more valuable and dangerous than gold or jewels could ever be.

Captura de ecrã 2017-06-30, às 18.09.21I got this book with Fairyloot and so I decided to do the readalong too… And I’m incredibly happy I did because I REALLY liked it. I love dragons and this was such a fun and light-hearted book!

At first, to be completely honest I wasn’t sure I was gonna enjoy it because I kind of struggled with the writing style and humor in the first pages. But after some more, that disappeared and I was completely glued to it!

This is the story of Sky Hawkin a teenage Wyvern aka were-dragon (a human with the ability to shift into a dragon). Only, they can’t do that anymore… But can however conjure fire! Plus, like any dragon they love precious things… Especially gold! And what better way to get it, than to steal it?! Every Wyvern as to do it, and so this will be Sky’s first time and I’m all for it!

The best thing for me was hands-down the characters. I really loved the characters here and all the friendship and family in it! It was just so heartwarming and beautiful! I absolutely adored Sky and how brave, strong-willed and actually normal she felt. She acted like a normal teenager and I loved that about her! I adored her family even more tho. They are like family goals and I just loved everything about them like SO FREAKING MUCH! They were my fav thing in this book! Plus, Sky’s friend Gabriella is freaking adorable! She is the best nerdy girl ever and I want to be her friend incredibly bad!

The heist was not as intense as I was expecting but it was a lot of fun, and incredibly fast passed. Plus, I was so invested in the characters that I was vibrating with all that was happening. Also, it did deliver the dragons I was expecting and I loved them with all my heart! Were-dragons is a concept I love and haven’t read much of and this book did everything I hoped for in that.

However, this book is for sure not the typical heist or dragon book you expect. It’s a lot more light and warm-hearted than they normally are. While there’s a lot of action and magic in it, there’s not much darkness or intenseness to it, and that’s what actually made me like it? I thought I wouldn’t but I actually really did and completely embraced the style of it! I found this book surprising, full of amazing characters, action and a lot of fun! If you want a fun light read, while having some magical creatures and action anyways, this is the book for you!
