Hey guys! Welcome to the first Fairyloot box of the year!! The theme for January is Unbreakable Bonds!

FairyLoot is an amazing YA bookish subscription box that I would highly recommend getting.

If you wanna check out what this box included, just keep reading! I will show photos of the items, information on them and some of my thoughts!

Unbreakable Bonds – January 2019

So this is all the box included. Now for each item…

This month’s book is Circle of Shadows by Evelyn Skye. And we got a signed edition with sprayed pages!

Here’s the synopsis:

A thrilling new fantasy series full of magic and betrayal—from Evelyn Skye, New York Times bestselling author of the Crown’s Game series.

Sora can move as silently as a ghost and hurl throwing stars with lethal accuracy. Her gemina, Daemon, can win any physical fight blindfolded and with an arm tied around his back. They are apprentice warriors of the Society of Taigas—marked by the gods to be trained in magic and the fighting arts to protect the kingdom of Kichona.

As their graduation approaches, Sora and Daemon look forward to proving themselves worthy of belonging in the elite group—but in a kingdom free of violence since the Blood Rift Rebellion many years ago, it’s been difficult to make their mark.

So when Sora and Daemon encounter a strange camp of mysterious soldiers while on a standard scouting mission, they decide the only thing to do to help their kingdom is to infiltrate the group. Taking this risk will change Sora’s life forever—and lead her on a mission of deception that may fool everyone she’s ever loved.

Love, spies, and adventure abound as Sora and Daemon unravel a complex web of magic and secrets that might tear them—and the entire kingdom—apart forever.

As for the other items…

26012019-img_8714With the book, we got a beautiful illustration on the other side of the letter from the author and I love it! It was designed by @sallteas

26012019-img_8715Also, here is the book signed and the letter from the author!

26012019-img_8716Also, the pages are sprayed with a beautiful shade of purple! It’s super light and it looks SO BEAUTIFUL with the cover!

26012019-img_8717We received a beautiful candle from Geeky Clean. It’s A Will & Jem candle from the TID series and it smells of tea and sweet sage. I’m super happy with it, since although I’m probably the only one, I don’t have much Shadowhunters merch.

We also got an amazing Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate from The Tea Leaf Co. This was inspired by Lia and Pauline from The Remnant Chronicles. It’s a vegan hot chocolate and I’m super excited to try it out!

26012019-img_8719Then, we got an AMAZING pillowcase, which I’m obviously already using, and as you can probably see it already has cat hair… It’s inspired by The Raven Boys and it’s so beautiful!!! This side was designed by Monolimeart!

26012019-img_8720While this one was designed by KDP Letters. The pillow is 45cm x 45cm and it’s totally perfect!! I love when the design is different on both sides.

26012019-img_8722Next, we got a Fellowship Friendship Woodmark inspired by The Lord of the Rings, more specifically, the friendship between Frodo and Sam. This was designed by Ink and Wonder Designs!

Also, we got a super cute exclusive lip balm from Book and Nook and it’s inspired by Jules and Arsinoe’s friendship from Three Dark Crowns. It’s mint and violet flavored.

Next, we got a super cute and very unique item. We got an exclusive Dregs hairband! It’s seriously so beautiful! This one was designed by Fictiontea Designs.

24012019-IMG_8661.jpgAnd these are the tarot cards we got in this box!! They are inspired by the A Court of Thorns and Roses and these are Feyre and Azriel. I like this even more than the last ones. They are not as dark and they look so good and detailed!!

And lastly, as some bonus items, we got one Poppy Wars bookmark and a Sawkill Girls postcard.

Here’s another overall view of the items:

26012019-img_8728This box was pretty cool. I loved the pillowcase super much and the headband! But to be honest, everything was awesome. The tarot cards are an awesome edition and I can’t wait to have Rhysand… Fingers crossed for that one!

Next month’s theme will be…

Beast & Beauty

We’re so happy to finally reveal the epic theme for February and it is… BEAST & BEAUTY!

This theme is a little different to anything we’ve done in the past, because everything in here will be inspired by Beauty and the Beast! We’re so excited about this theme and cannot wait for you guys to see all of the items we’ve curated for you.

The book of the month is a modern Beauty and the Beast retelling that we haven’t been able to stop thinking about since we read it. It’s one of the best Beauty and the Beast retellings we’ve ever read, and it puts such a unique spin on this classic tale.

The edition we will be featuring is a FairyLoot exclusive as it will be hardcover (the standard UK edition is paperback) and will have a silky ribbon bookmark attached to it. We don’t want to give away too much about this edition, but it is absolutely stunning and it may or may not be covered in holographic foil. 😉 It will also come with a rose-shaped bookplate signed by the author and an author letter with beautiful character art on the reverse.

We aren’t going to reveal much more yet, but this box is going to include some gorgeous items that we have never ever included in any previous box before and one of those is going to be a WALL TAPESTRY! We absolutely cannot wait for you guys to receive this box.

We hope you are as excited as we are about this box! Boxes are AVAILABLE NOW – stay tuned for more supplier reveals on social media!

For more information on that box, you can check it out here. The boxes are sold out tho.

When they are sold out, you can still get some at the beginning of each month tho (around day 2/3). If you missed them, don’t worry! Each box is amazing and I’m sure you will be as happy with the next one as you would with this one! Also, make sure you check out their Instagram, they always post there the new themes!

I hope you guys enjoyed this unboxing!

  1. I didn’t get this Fairyloot box but I made sure I put in an order for the February Beauty and the Beast box before it ran out because I need that box in my life! And I won’t care that I will ultimately have two copies of the same book! However I will be checking out Circle of Shadows because it sounds intriguing.

Also just a heads up, but I think you’ve added in the synopsis for Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan, not Circle of Shadows.
