Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Let me start by just saying one thing. I’m SO ridiculously late to this series. Buuuuuut it finally happened!
The main character Juliette has this (super cool) fatal touch, anyone she touches just dies in agony. She has been in an asylum for almost a year when she is captured by The Reestablishment who wants to use her as a weapon in their warfare.
But soon after being taken to the Reestablishment quarters she learns that an old childhood friend may help her escape. With no other choice, she is on the run!
The story was super fast-paced, with both excitement and tension. I loved how the writing was so easy to feel. I totally felt everything happening and I was super excited to see where the story was going. I am going to say tho that I loved the first initial trilogy more, especially because I wasn’t the biggest fan of the last book, a lot of it felt like a deja vu….
The book is VERY easy to visualise and I really enjoyed the world and how not info dumping it was. It felt like something real and possible, which is my fav when it comes to dystopian novels.
I LOOOVED the characters and their interactions! I was all in for it!
Juliette is this troubled soul, that’s incredible she lasted that long with the life she lived until this book started. I mean she has never been loved by anyone and now in isolation it just would break anyone, and she felt lost. But she is a lot stronger and fiercer than she thinks and her development through the novel is sound!
Adam is a lover boy that ever since he saw Juliette as a kid was totally interested. It’s not as much insta-love than what it seems. It’s just first and young love. You know?
Warner. Oh Warner, I love you. I loved you since the first novella – Which I highly encourage you to read, especially the first is key!! He has been folded by birth to be who he is now. But this character has more depth than what we initially thought, give him a chance will you?
I adored reading these books, I flew through them! They are easy to just read in one sitting due to the writing being so heartfelt and the plot is fantastic. Can’t believe it took me this long to get to them but they totally took me from a reading slump and helped my most depressive days!
